Heart Strings by Dawn Gilliam

This encaustic artwork was inspired by a found black and white photo. It looks as if this union was a lifetime web of interlaced memories and emotions. The couple is linked together in one heart even though the love is shared by two people.

  • Cream white lace doily cyanotype on a dark blue background.
  • Black and white photo of a woman and a man in the center with red embroidery string. The word 'memories' is stamped in black ink on a small piece of a library card.
  • The cyanotype is fused with encaustic wax on an 8" x 10" x 1" cradled wood panel.
  • Handmade. Mixed media collage/ Cyanotype/ Encaustic wax.
  • The artwork will be shipped with a certificate of authenticity signed by the artist.
